Her new school is quite different than her old one in Pheonix. There, she makes new friends, and does well in classes. But something else has caught her eye. A mysterious, pale group of students sit alone at their own lunch tables, barely speak to anyone, and always stay in their group. But Bella gets to know them better when she is seated beside the handsome Edward Cullen from the group. At first, Edward is furious to be near Bella. this was just a awsome great book. i felt it was a little heavy and emotional but i really enjoyed it to really compehend it prople wouldent read it unless you were a great reader or over 14 because its hard to compahend also if you dont under stand what you have just read read it till it makes sence its really awsome !!!! try it for your self !
Bella is the least appealing protagonist in a novel since Patrick Bateman. Avoid.
This was my first hook into vampire books...
Bella Swan moves from Phoenix to Forks to live with her father. There she meets the Cullens, who seem different from everyone else, and even more than human.
Seventeen-year-old Bella leaves Phoenix to live with her father in Forks, Washington, where she meets an exquisitely handsome boy at school for whom she feels an overwhelming attraction and who she comes to realize is not wholly human.
When seventeen-year-old Bella leaves Phoenix to live with her father in Forks, Washington, she meets an exquisitely handsome boy at school for whom she feels an overwhelming attraction and who she comes to realize is not wholly human.
Bella Swan is not your typical seventeen-year-old high school junior. She is bookish, intelligent and perceptive. She couldn't care less about things like cute boys, school dances and becoming part of the "it" crowd. She is prone to accidents and prefers quiet nights alone cooking or reading a book than nights gossiping on the phone. When her mother marries an athlete and decides to travel around with him, Bella decides to live full-time with her father in Forks, Washington, a small town near Seattle. She hates Forks because it rains a lot, but her high school life is different from the one she had in Phoenix. Boys want to go out with her and she makes new friends as soon as she gets there. But no one in school is as interesting as the mysterious crowd who sit at the same lunch table everyday. They are outsiders, that much is certain. But they are also very attractive and intriguing, especially Edward Cullen. He seems to dislike Bella from the moment he sees her. What could be the reason for his hostility? But as he reluctantly gets closer, Bella becomes all the more drawn to the drop-dead gorgeous seventeen-year-old whose eyes change color and whose skin is so pale it seems to glow. Who is he? Or, more to the point, *what* is he? Edward lets her know in no uncertain terms that he is dangerous, that he fights unnatural urges whenever she's near. However, it may be too late for Bella to stay away from him, for she is in love.
bella is new in forks and she meets this beautiful boy that she soon discovers is edward. but something tells bella that hes got a little secret... i think everyone knows this already :P

Comment
Add a CommentI only wanted to read this so i could hate in detail, but i actually really liked it. I read the rest of the series in the next week, then again, then again.
i loved it
A polarizing title, to be sure, but I've never read a book that took me back to the melodramatic time of 17 as well as this one did. I liked that so much, I read it twice.
The book that started the craze.
Best book ever! I love Edward.
I can't say it was the worst book I've ever read, but it was down there. The characters are flat and the relationships border on abusive. The angst is a classic part of any teen romance novel that's never been appealing to me. Bella didn't ever go through any character development, she's more like a tool. I've sometimes wondered if it was intentional so as to let the reader plaster her own face onto Bella, but maybe I'm over thinking it. At any rate I wouldn't suggest it and the rest of the books only get worse, coming around to a conclusion without any conflict.
Never read a worse book in my life
loved it!!!! didn't want to stop reading can't wait to read the rest of them. Team Jacob!!!!! <3
This book in my opinion is amazing and wonderfully detailed! There is no way that you can get a better book besides maybe Harry Potter!!!
The main, big, problem with this book is it's message and strict views. I'm not going to elaborate, because there are lots of better reviews. Other than that, the other porblem I had with it was that it was slow. REALLY slow. Like, Beautiful Creatures slow, before you got hooked.
