I am very impressed with this film. I am a Catholic and generally happy with that fact, but I am not stupid and the Catholic church certainly has done terrible wrong back then and even now. I had heard of Martin Luther and was curious to know more about him. What this film gives in incredible. I have never heard even The Pope talk like this. The pure unbridled faith of Luther is moving. The best part of this film is that it is not trying to preach. It doesn't say "Believe this" instead it presents the story without apologies and lets you decide what you think of Luther's views. The Church is portrayed as concerned for Christianity as a whole, but more importantly, overwhelmed with the furtherance of it's own power and crushing influence. I believe this is true even to this day. The world would be a better place if more people like Luther were in it.

Average historical account of a religious movement. The acting was pretty good, but I didn't really care about what happened or who it was happening to. Informative and enjoyable enough to watch to the end, but nothing to write home about.
