This was a book that I read believing it would bring a new perspective to this genre. I was wrong. This booked opened my eyes a little to unique possibilities of the past and how it is reflected on the change of the future. History always repeats itself and this said Auschwitz all over it. Good read!

This was a really great book because it was so action-packed and perfectly paced, explaining almost everything in detail. Be aware, though, that this story is extremely graphic, and very horror-filled at some parts. It seems to be based on things like Nazi doctors and the Holocaust in general, so be advised.

This was an awesome book and I don't normally go for such thin books but I'm really glad that I chose to read it. Alex is a hero but not really like any other hero I have ever read about. I loved it along with the other ones :)

So. Scary. This book is. Seriously, I advise you not to read this book late at night when your house starts making those unexplicable noises. But besides the fact that this book scared me silly, I actually enjoyed. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, it was extrememly action-packed!

BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD. It's boring at first, believe me. I wanted to stop after 3 chapters but I didn't and I'm SO glad I didn't. Once the story gets started, you LITERALLY won't put it down. No matter how old, girly, happy, sad, angry, smart, etc, you are, READ. THIS. BOOK. I got SO attached to the characters. I do with all books, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read it. You will honest to god love it. Then again...I am only a 13-year-old girl. Hope that helped!! :) <3

Alex is running a string of burglaries when he and his best friend are caught in the act, and Alex is framed for murder. Alex is sentenced to life in the infamous prison "Furnace" which houses only teens. It was created especially for that purpose after a summer of shocking gang murders several years earlier. Not only is Furnace unusual in that it is almost completely underground, there are also huge freaky guards, monster dogs and machine guns. Worst of all are the men in gas masks who take you away in the middle of the night… With the help of his cellmate and a few friends, Alex manages to steer clear of the guards and gangs to survive. But Alex wants to do more than survive- he wants to escape and get his life back. "Beneath heaven is hell. Beneath hell is Furnace." Grade 9+ , 288 pages
