Add a CommentWow, a lot better than I thought it would be. Sabriel may seem dull at first, but she's really relatable as the story progresses.
Great, great, great book. If you read Garth Nix's other series, Keys to the Kingdom, you will probably love this series too. Great story, great characters, very creative. 2nd book ~ Lirael 3rd book ~ Abhorsen
What an amazing feat of imagination -- in this book Garth Nix plays with fantasy trope necromancy in a way I can guarantee you probably haven't experience before. The result is a page turner that leaves you satisfied, yet wanting more. Unfortunately, I found the rest of the series less amazing than this first Abhorsen book, but that is more so a reflection of the awesomeness Sabriel than a commentary on the later works in the trilogy.
