The first part was good but toward the middle it got boring and the end did not live up to all the hype.

Excellent book! It may not be my #1 favourite by this author, but it's certainly a good read. So often, books written for young adults can be superficial and pointless, which Paper Towns is anything but. However, while it is chock-full of amazing messages and morals (like the one so strongly respected and encouraged by the Nerdfighter community, "imagine each other complexly"), it puts these messages across without being preachy or stuffing them down your throat. Though the main love interest in this book seems at first like yet another example of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl (which can be a bit tiresome for anyone who reads a lot of non-mainstream YA fiction), she proves to be so much more than that, part of what makes this such a complex and beautiful book.

The voice is that of a bored teenager. The language is simple, and the characters use the swear words that many high school students try on. I didn't like the book, and that disappointed me. I've heard wonderful things about Paper Towns, but the characters are flat. They are stock characters who had one purpose to fulfill in the story. The main characters had some room to grow and change, but they were still stuck in their archetypes, and I wanted more from them. I also felt the ending is anticlimactic. The protagonist spends so much time describing and solving clues that I expected something explosive from the ending. What I received was an ending that seemed to go against the usual resolutions of mysteries. It threw me off because every other aspect of the story felt systematic. The ending isn't a huge revelation, and it left things to be desired.

This is my first book by John Green; I seen Looking for Alaska on the bookshelves around the library and bookstores but I never really thought about picking it up and reading it. Not sure why. On this trip to the library I saw this book on the table, it was just sitting there and I liked the title so I picked it up and checked it out. Paper Towns is an interesting book, it is not the best book that I’ve read so far but it is a good book. Quentin Jacobsen, out main protagonist was very interesting character and I liked him a lot. It was different reading this book, because I find that a lot of books that I read are from the POV of a woman or teenage girl. That is not to say that I never read a book from POV of male character. It took me four of five hours in total to read this book across span of two days. First part of t he book was, in my opinion, bit dry and slow. But towards the end of the book it gets more interesting and humorous. The scene in the car, where one of the characters has to pie all the time. That was funny and disgusting at the same time – you have to read the book to know why it is disgusting. All I could think of while that scene was going on was of Dumb and Dumber movie. Margo’s character did not sit well with me because I really did not understand her. I found that her running away tendencies were more so attention seeking than anything else. Maybe if I got a chance to read the book from Margo’s POV than I might have understood her better and why she does things that she does. However I was very happy with the ending because I was dredging the opposite and I did not want that for Quentin. Overall this was good read, it was entertaining, humorous, and fun. I think that I will give Looking for Alaska a try to see if I like that even better. With Paper Towns I liked it but I did not think it was wow worthy. I give this book 3/5 STARS – Happy Reading everyone. Let me know what you thought of this book

OMG. i cannot say how much I enjoyed this book. It was funny, insightful, and FUNNY. goodness, sooo hilarious. i found myself wishing over and over again throughout the book that these kids were real, and were my friends. I would LOVE to take part in their adventure. It's such a funny, refreshing book to read. I really really recommend it :)

Similar to most books by John Green. So, if you like the others, you will like this. However, as mentioned, it is about a love struck teen trying to find happiness. Still a very good read and worth it if you like John Green's style.

Pretty alright. Paper Towns has some hilarious, mostly token-black-friend-related moments (black Santas, Omnictionary, the confederate t-shirt), but for me it was hard to feel that the book was going anywhere most of the time. There's only so many pages of wandering seemingly aimlessly about Florida that I can slog through. Margo just comes off as some bitch who runs off knowing that her peers will spend their last month of high school worrying about her while she goes on her little road trip. Perhaps that's why I enjoyed the ending so much--sometimes you think you love someone, but they turn out to be a kind of person you're not able to love the way you want to.
